Celebrity Golf Day: Everyone Deserves a Healthy Childhood

Join sporting legends, media personalities and other South African luminaries for a five-star golfing experience at Pearl Valley Golf & Country Estate. Those who stand to benefit most from this much-anticipated annual event are young children in dire need of paediatric care.

The Pearl Valley Celebrity Golf Day takes place on Tuesday 23 September this year with the goal of raising R100 000 for The Children’s Hospital Trust. All funds will go towards the Child Speech & Hearing Programme – a remarkable initiative that is addressing the current backlog of care for little ones with hearing and speech conditions.

Currently, there are only very limited Paediatric Speech, Language and Audiology services available in the Western Cape health services. At the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, the overstretched Speech Therapy department has a waiting list of over 800 children (a backlog that will take three years to address). As a result, these young patients are not receiving the early treatment they need and can miss out on precious developmental time.

The Child Speech & Hearing Programme is part of the solution. Your money will go towards ensuring that these precious children are treated more effectively and timeously for a better chance at normal development and a healthy childhood.

A crowd of celebrities have rallied in support of this worthy cause and you could find yourself playing in a fourball with Brian McMillan, Nick Mallett, Rob Louw, Dale Steyn, Dave Rundle, Chester Williams, Werner Greeff, Breyton Paulse, Toks vd Linde, Christian Stewart, DeWet Barry, Marius Joubert, Hanyani Shimange, Charl Marais, Bob Skinstad, Katlego Maboe, Richard Hardiman or Jeremy Harris!

Fourballs (three players and one celebrity) cost R4000 and there are additional sponsorship opportunities for businesses wanting to get involved.
